The EZ-License-IR is a super-high resolution outdoor bullet camera designed to give you the utmost quality in any conditions. Built in to its durable outdoor housing is a high quality 560 line camera using a Sony 1/3" imager. To allow for viewing at any distance, it has an integrated 6 ~ 96mm Optical zoom lens, allowing it to see clearly at long distance. Catch intruders or watch property from a 200' distance, or mount the camera closer to catch a license plate or face from up to 100' away. A combination of Digital Slow Shutter and Infrared Night vision technology allows the camera to see in complete darkness and still manage to capture incredible detail.

Digital Slow Shutter technology allows the camera to adjust its image quality, so that no area of the screen appears too dark or too bright. This is especially important when capturing high-sensitivity shots such as license plates on cars. All too often a car's headlights may produce too much glare at night to see, or the camera adjusting for the headlights may not illuminate the license plate well. DSS helps counter this and provide the best possible image for any application.

Capturing an image of a License Plate or face can be tricky, even with the correct equipment. If the image is too zoomed out and wide, there may not be enough detail to see the license plate clearly.

For the best results, we always recommend the following : Mount the camera 100' or (preferrably) closer away from the location you wish to monitor. We also recommend that you zoom the camera in until the image is no wider than 12' across. Narrower images are more tightly zoomed-in, and will provide better detail.

To give you the best possible chance to record an object as it moves, we recommend the EZ Watch Pro Professional Grade capture cards - movement requires a higher framerate, and the Professional Grade systems offer a full 30 frames per second per camera.

By following those guidelines you will have the absolute best chance at obtaining a detailed image of a license plate.
